Three accounts, one honest number.
CapitalWay keeps your checking, savings and cash in one place, records what moves between them, and tells you at the end of the month whether you came out ahead.
No sign-up, no bank login. Your records stay on the phone.
Income, expenses, and what's left
Pick a week, a month or a whole year, then step backwards and forwards through periods. Whatever you land on, the same three figures answer the question — and net cash flow is the one that matters.
Where it went
A ledger you can actually search
Entries group under the day they happened and carry both their category and the account they touched. Filter to expenses, income or transfers only, or type a few letters to find that one payment from three weeks ago.
Expense, income, or a move between your own accounts
Transfers are their own kind of entry, so shifting money into savings never gets counted as spending. Everything else is amount, category, account, date and an optional note.
Two charts that answer different questions
The monthly view plots income against expenses day by day, so paydays and heavy weekends stand out immediately.
Income vs. expenses
Income $4,850.00 · Expenses $2,314.29
Switch to the yearly view and the same data becomes twelve bars around a zero line: months you finished up sit above it, months you overspent sit below.
Cash flow trend
Net cash flow · $3,165.71
Accounts you set up yourself
Checking, savings, cash, or anything else you want to keep separate. Each one carries its own balance, and the total across active accounts sits on top.
Small things that keep it honest
Transfers don't distort the month
Moving $1,200 into savings shows up in the ledger, but never as an expense — so the spending figure stays true.
The donut counts only what left
Category shares are calculated from real outflows for the selected period, with the smaller categories folded into a “+3 more” row.
Step through any period
Last month, the month before, or the whole of 2026 — the arrows work everywhere the period switch appears.
Notes for the details you'll forget
“Lunch with friends” is worth more in six weeks than a bare $48.90 ever will be.
Three steps to a working month
Create your accounts
Start with the ones you actually use and enter their current balances.
Log as you go
Tap the plus, pick expense, income or transfer, and it lands in the ledger under today.
Read the month back
Check net cash flow, see which category took the largest share, and adjust from there.
How CapitalWay works
CapitalWay is a manual tracker for personal budgeting. It doesn't connect to banks, cards or payment providers, doesn't import statements, and doesn't move real money — the transfer feature simply records a movement between two accounts you created. Every figure comes from what you entered. The app does not provide financial, investment or tax advice, and your records are stored on your device.
Start with one account
Add a balance, log today's coffee, and the rest of the month builds itself.
